Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST)

CPST is a case management program for Medicaid-eligible children and adults. CPST provides services in the home, community and school. CPST serves as an extra support to outpatient counseling and medication management services. We strive to assist our clients in becoming as independent as possible.

PsyCare uses a recovery-based model that encourages personal responsibility and development of skills to help the client take control of his or her life, rather than depending upon systems and agencies. We are a client-driven program focused on helping you attain your goals. We believe in a workable partnership between the client and our case workers. CPST is available in all nine locations in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

CPST for Adults

For adults, CPST:

We are strength-based and believe that the development of a positive self-image and a stable living situation is critical to long-term symptom management and personal happiness. An individual will be assigned a CPST staff member who is knowledgeable and has skills in mental health. The client will work directly with the case worker to identify individualized and personal goals and community resources.

CPST for Children

PsyCare has case management services for children with difficult-to-treat emotional disorders and/or developmental disabilities. CPST can assist with assessing the child and family’s needs and find resources required to address those needs. We work closely with schools and families to make sure your child has all the supports in place to help him or her become a successful student. We attend school meetings with you and your child and assist with IEP development and advocacy based upon your child’s educational needs. A specific and individualized service plan will be developed to identify your child’s strengths and areas of concern. CPST monitors the child’s progress at home and at school. We help parents develop specific behavior plans to reduce problem behaviors at home and school. PsyCare works closely specialists like neurologists, occupational and physical therapists and medical specialists to make sure your child has the best and most complete treatment team possible. CPST staff can provide help to other children in your home if they are clients of the agency.
