“I believe that it is my professional responsibility as a clinical social worker to enhance the overall wellbeing of each individual, couple and family served. Having worked with vastly diverse groups of people, I believe that each person possesses the capacity for resilience, personal empowerment and emotional wellness that can be achieved through therapeutic partnership. I encourage clients to pursue self-directed goals, thoughtfully evaluate their own progress, critically examine their environment and promote the courage to enact change.

Theoretical Orientation

In his role as clinical social worker/therapist, Mr. Aley utilizes a variety of theoretical perspective to direct his practice. Some of these include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which examines the relationship between thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Reality Therapy focuses on the here-and-now actions of the client and their ability to choose behaviors that lead toward desired goals. Choice Theory suggests that we always have some capacity to make choices and exercise control in our lives. Solution Focused Theory encourages clients to envision their own preferred future, rather than past problems. Client Centered Therapy provides an atmosphere for individuals to develop the insight necessary to guide their own healing.
