Anthony Durkin BA, QMHS

IFAST Staff

Anthony Durkin is an IFAST staff member since 2019. Anthony graduated from the College of Wooster with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and quickly began working in the mental health field. While in college, he was a level four volunteer at a residential treatment facility in Wooster, Ohio — working with a group of five residents on a quarterly newsletter — helping them express themselves through writing, art, and photography. After graduating, he began working for Children and Family Services in Sharon, PA as a therapeutic staff support for children in the classroom, community, and home. “This is where my career actually began,” he says.

This position with Children and Family Services led him to a teaching assistant position just a year later, working with behavioral students, 1st through 8th grade, in a specialized school through Glade Run Lutheran Services. He also began a role as a residential group home worker for kids between the ages of 10 and 17 years old, which he continues to maintain. In November 2018, Anthony took a step forward and began working as a residential program supervisor for Arc of Mercer County, working with adults with mental health disadvantages, ensuring their basic needs were being met. “All of this experience ultimately led me to where I am today: working with children (as an IFAST staff member at PsyCare), and I truly believe that this is where I am meant to be.”
